Why I hate most contemporary novels

A rant

This is going to be a rant about contemporary novels.

I actually really like to read fiction. And I’m always looking for books that tell us more about the way we live now, during this very interesting era.

But I feel like our current writers are not up to the task.

If you go into any random bookstore and look at the books that are promoted, or the ones that won awards, or got great reviews in The New York Times, you will, most likely, find that those books are almost all pretty damn woke. It’s freaking everywhere.

But that’s NOT even my main issue with books these days. This is a symptom of a much larger problem.
