Why you must do your own research

Even if mistakes get made

I believe strongly in doing your own research. You absolutely cannot just blindly “follow the experts.”

I feel that way even more strongly having become an “expert” in something. Seeing how the sausage gets made, aka, becoming a supposed “expert” in something, made me even more skeptical of blindly trusting the “experts.”

Why does our media discourage the public from doing their own research? Who should be allowed to do their own research? What even is an expert?
